Overview
In this 8-day Flamingo Safari tour program, you’ll get to explore some of the most remarkable and diverse monuments in Northern Tanzania. You’ll visit the Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, the magnificent Serengeti, and Ol Doinyo Lengai, an active volcano in the South of Lake Natron. The guests of this program will also experience the rainforest deserts and the active volcano. It’s going to be an experience that you’ll always cherish.
ARRIVAL IN TANZANIA
Our staff will greet and escort you to your hotel in Arusha from the Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO).
Itinerary
DAY 2: TARANGIRE BIRDS DESTINATION

Soon after your breakfast, you’ll meet our guide at the hotel at 7:30 AM. After a brief meet-up with your guide, they’ll escort you to Tarangire National Park from your hotel. You’ll arrive around 10:30 AM and soon begin your first expedition.
Tarangire National Park is across the Tarangire River and is one of Tanzania’s most famous parks. The park is home to over 550 bird species and elephants. You’ll get to see many animals such as lions, zebras, leopards, and cheetahs. You’ll get to see giant elephants near the Tarangire River.
Remember! Our guides shall not be responsible for any accidents in the presence of wild animals. Afrilion Expeditions doesn’t make any guarantee. However, our guides will do their best to protect and keep all the guests safe.
You’ll be provided with a meal during lunch breaks, after which we’ll continue to explore before leaving for the hotel in the evening.
DAY3: RIFT VALLEY LAKE

We’ll wake up early to have breakfast and start the day the next day. We’ll travel up to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara is located in the Arusha region that consists of wetlands, streams, and springs. It makes an ideal environment for elephants, flamingos, and lions. The lake in the park also attracts a staggering number of different species of birds.
At lunch break, we’ll visit the Maji Moto, where you’ll each get a lunchbox. We’ll enjoy our meals near the hot streams. After lunch, we’ll continue our journey until late evening. We’ll stay at a hotel near Ngorongoro volcanic crater.
DAY4: INTACT CALDERA/NGORONGORO CRATER (THE BLACKHOLE)

We’ll leave the hotel as early as possible to see animals that are active during early mornings. Breakfast will be served in lunch boxes during the tour. We’ll head off at 6:35 AM and arrive at Ngorongoro Conservation Area after an hour.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one of Tanzania’s most spectacular and famous parks. It is home to a diverse species of animals and birds. You’ll get the experience of seeing animals such as elephants, lions, wildebeests, and hippos from the vehicle, up close. You’ll also see other feline creatures like caracals. Some endangered species like rhinos may also be seen if you’re lucky.
We’ll be at the lakeside by lunchtime. You’ll be served lunch in lunchboxes. After relaxing and lunch break, we’ll continue the safari for a few more hours before traveling to Serengeti National Park.
During this expedition, we’ll also visit the memorial of Bernhard Grzimek and Michael Grzimek, two renowned German researchers. It is because of them that the Northern Tanzania National Parks is preserved in its natural state.
We’ll stay at a hotel inside the park for the night.
DAY 5: MAJESTIC SERENGETI
Soon after breakfast, we’ll continue the safari in the southern and eastern parts of Serengeti Park. These sides of the park have open spaces and savannahs, where you’ll get the chance to see animals like cheetah and leopards as they chase their prey.
After the expedition, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, where you’ll retire for the evening.
DAY 6: MAJESTIC SERENGETI
The next day, after breakfast, you’ll commence the expedition by moving to the center of Serengeti Park. Your guide will spot animals and species that you’re interested in. Near lunch break, you’ll head over to the park’s visitor center, where you’ll be offered lunch in lunchboxes. The guides will also share some information about the animals and some history of the park.
There are over hundreds and thousands of different species in the Serengeti Valley. You’ll find elephants, ostriches, jackals, hyenas, cheetahs, antelopes, and many more. Keep a sharp lookout for animals and enjoy the landscape.
We’ll move to the Northern part of the park to transfer to your hotel in the evening.
DAY 7: MAJESTIC SERENGETI
On day seven, we’ll continue our safari after breakfast. We’ll explore the northern side of Serengeti Park and experience the diverse fauna and landscape. You’ll get to spot some rare animals you’ll only find in the isolated areas of the park.
We’ll head over to Natron Lake in the evening and stay at a hotel for the night.
DAY 8: GREAT NGARE SERO WATERFALL AND LAKE NATRON
We’ll explore the Ngare Sero Waterfall in the rift valley on our last expedition day. For the most part, this hike will be flat and relaxing. However, we’ll be crossing rivers, so we’ll advise all guests to wear sandals or flops on this day. We’ll then head over to Lake Natron, where we’ll take pictures of the spectacular volcano called Ol Doinyo Lengai. We’ll enjoy and relax near the shore and have our lunch break. In the evening, we’ll head back to our hotel in Arusha.
Please note: For those interested, our staff can organize a trekking expedition to trek to Ol Doinyo Lengai. Be aware that it’s a challenging trek, suitable for those who are physically fit.
DEPARTURE 9
Transfer to the hotel and rest.
All guests have to check out before or at 11:00 AM. If your flight is later than 11:00 AM, you can extend your stay for an extra charge.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- It’s strictly prohibited to leave the vehicle during the expedition unless advised otherwise. Violating this rule can lead to license revocation and penalties for the company.
- Driving off-road is prohibited as it can damage the ecosystem of the park.
- You’re allowed to smoke as long as you extinguish the cigarette butts.
- Avoid putting your feet on car seats or sitting on the back as it may make the vehicle unstable.
- Hotel check-out is at 11:00 AM. In case you extend your stay, you’ll be charged extra.
- The hotel cost covers breakfast only.
