The trek starts at the Marangu Gate and goes through the rainforest to reach Mandara Hut. The highlight of the journey is seeing the unique animals that live in the region. We begin our day by continuing through the forest until the trail leads passengers to an elevated moorland. Here, passengers will get the opportunity to witness the inspiring views of the Mawenzi and Kibo peaks, two peaks of Kilimanjaro that are highly popular among tourists.

This is an additional day meant for acclimatization to give visitors a chance to hike on Mawenzi Ridge. This unique ridge allows members to get a once-in-a-lifetime view of Mawenzi and Kibo. After spending a few moments exploring the area, we head back to Horombo Hut.

On day 4, visitors get to climb through the dessert located between Kibo and Mawenzi. Our camp, Kibo Hut, is found at the end of the crater wall located in Kibo. Once we rest here, enjoy an early dinner and make necessary preparations for the summit day.

We start with an ascent of around 18,700 feet. It can be very cold and windy. During this time, we take frequent breaks and hike steadily. The harsh weather conditions make it difficult to climb the mountain. During this time, we take short breaks and enjoy the beautiful sunrise over the mountain.

On our last day, we trek through the rainforest to the Marangu Gate. We collect our Summit Certificates.

SAFARI DAY 1

ARUSHA – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, your driver will pick you up from your hotel and drive to Tarangire National Park. This reserve features savannah, bush, and seasonal marshes.

Tarangire is home to a variety of animals, such as zebras, buffaloes, and wildebeests. From the open roof of your vehicle, you can see the landscape and hear the animals.

SAFARI DAY 2

KARATU – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

The drive to the southern portion of the Serengeti begins at mid-morning. The park’s plains are populated by different types of animals, including lions, hyenas, and zebras. The highlight of this region is the yearly migration of the wildebeests and the thousands of tourists that visit the area.

SAFARI DAY 3

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK – NGORONGORO CONSERVATION

The journey to the park gate will allow you to enjoy more game viewing. As you enter the area, you can also see the Maasai Boma, which are the traditional inhabitants of the region.

SAFARI DAY 4

NGORONGORO CRATER – ARUSHA

On this trip, you will explore the collapsed volcano, which is home to over 25,000 animals, including the Big Five: lions, elephants, rhinos, and hyenas. Afterward, you will drive back to town and enjoy lunch at the Hippo Pool.

DEPARTURE DAY

On this day, your driver will then transfer you to the airport so that you can catch your flight to Zanzibar.
