TREKKING DAY 1

Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa

• The estimated elevation will be from 7,742 ft to 9,498 ft

Your first campsite is located in the lush rainforest. The highlight of the mountain hike will be the exotic black-and-white colobuses scampered across the lush canopy. Soon after we get there, we’ll begin hiking through the thick forest and make our way to our first camp.

TREKKING DAY 2

Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp

• The hiking duration will be between 5–6 hours

We’ll walk through the lush rainforest and hike our way to Shira Plateau. You’ll be able to enjoy a spectacular view of the summit, soaring above the clouds. From there, we’ll climb on top of the hills and pass by a series of streams, making our way to the Shira Ridge. This is where we’ll pitch our camp, Shira 1 Camp and relax for the day. We’ll also enjoy a view of Kibo through the Plateau.

TREKKING DAY 3

Shira 1 Camp to Moir Hut

On this day, we’ll get to explore the Shira Plateau. It will also help us acclimatize safely and increase the chances of a successful summit. At our west, we’ll be able to view the grand Mount Meru. Shira Plateau is one of the highest plateaus globally, and exploring it offers a chance to acclimatize safely.

TREKKING DAY 4

Moir Hut to Lava Tower

• The estimated elevation will be from 13,800 ft to 15,190 ft
• The total distance will be 7 km/4 miles
• The hiking duration will be between 4–5 hours
• Habitat: Alpine Desert

Lava Tower in Kilimanjaro is a tall rock formation made from lava. It’s over 300 ft tall, and climbing the tower and descending back will help your summit acclimatization. Once we descend from the Lava Tower, we’ll head towards Barranco Camp. We’ll walk through the exotic and beautiful Senecio Forest. Senecio Forest has an estimated elevation of 13,000 ft. You’ll spend most of the day at a higher altitude but end it at the same elevation.

TREKKING DAY 5

Lava Tower to Karanga camp

On day five, we’ll climb down to the Great Barranco Valley and make our way to Karanga Camp. On our way, we’ll also enjoy the beautiful view of the waterfall and the soaring glaciers above Kilimanjaro.

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

• The estimated elevation will be from 13,044 ft to 13,106 ft
• The total distance will be 5 km/3 miles
• The hiking duration will be between 4–5 hours
• Habitat: Alpine Desert

Temperatures tend to drop as we hike higher on the mountain. We’ll rest for a while before the summit. We’ll cross multiple valleys and hills while passing through the Barranco wall before we climb down into Karanga Valley. We’ll pitch our camp for the night and retire to bed early to help you acclimatize.

TREKKING DAY 7

Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak

• The estimated elevation will be from 15,331 ft to 19,341 ft
• The total distance will be 5 km/3 miles
• The hiking duration will be 7–8 hours

We’ll wake up near midnight on day seven and commence the summit. It is going to be a challenging and difficult expedition. We’ll stop to see the sunrise over Mawenzi Peak. We’ll celebrate your achievements and take photos to make memories before we climb down to our camps.

TREKKING DAY 8

Crater Camp to Mweka Camp

• The estimated elevation will be from 18,865 ft to 10,065 ft
• The total distance will be 12 km/7 miles
• The hiking duration will be 4–6 hours

After enjoying your celebratory meal the next day, we’ll begin our hike. Hikers can choose to explore the ash pit and the soaring glaciers, or they can simply summit for a second time. Since the trail is rocky and challenging, we’ll recommend using trekking poles. We’ll head over to Mweka Camp and reach by late afternoon. We’ll take the remainder of the day to enjoy a delicious meal and rest.

TREKKING DAY 9

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

• The estimated elevation will be from 10,065 ft to 5,380 ft
• The total distance will be 10 km/6 miles
• The hiking duration will be 3–4 hours
• Habitat: Rain Forest

After the farewell ceremony, you’ll receive your certificates. You’ll then be escorted to your day room, where you can shower and rest for the next day.

SAFARI DAY 1

ARUSHA – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, you’ll be escorted to Tarangire National Park. It will be a 2-hour drive from your hotel. Tarangire National Park is one of Tanzania’s most famous and important parks. It is known for the diverse number of species, especially herds of elephants near the river. You’ll be able to spot animals like buffaloes, wildebeests, and giraffes. You’ll also see a range of predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Additionally, you’ll also be able to view and enjoy the beautiful landscape from the vehicle’s open roof. You’ll stay the night in the Park, inside your lodge.

SAFARI DAY 2

KARATU – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, we’ll travel to Serengeti National Park on day two. It is one of the largest parks in Tanzania. Serengeti National Park has diverse species and landscapes. It is also known for zebras and wildebeests yearly migration in search of fresh water and grass. The landscape is a combination of grasslands, woodlands, and lakes.

SAFARI DAY 3

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK – NGORONGORO CONSERVATION

You’ll enjoy some game viewing before leaving the Serengeti National Park for Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You’ll get to view the traditional habitats of Maasai Boma. You’ll arrive at Ngorongoro Conservation Area by late afternoon and stay at the Ngorongoro crater lodge for the night.

SAFARI DAY 4

NGORONGORO CRATER – ARUSHA

The next day after breakfast, we’ll climb down to the crater. We’ll get to see the collapsed volcano that is now home to over 25 thousand mammals. You’ll spot animals like lions, elephants, and leopards. You’ll also see some of the 500 bird species within the region. Afterwards, we’ll have a lunch picnic at Hippo Pool and head back to Arusha town.

DEPARTURE DAY

On this day, depending on your plan, you may travel back home or fly to Zanzibar. Our driver will take you to the airport for your flight.
